HUMANOID

The Humanoid team at Pequi Mecânico, a robotics center at the Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), is dedicated to the development of autonomous humanoid robots, with an emphasis on robotic soccer competitions. Founded in 2010 by four UFG students, Pequi Mecânico has grown significantly and is now recognized for its contributions to national robotics. Pequi Mecânico values academic production, with publications that address everything from simultaneous localization and mapping algorithms to walking control for humanoid robots.
Marta
Our robot, Marta, needs to perform some primary actions on the field. Each task is designed to help the robot effectively interact with its environment, whether it’s tracking the ball, positioning itself, scoring, or defending. Below are the core actions that guide the robot’s behavior during the game:

⚽ Vision
Identify ball position: Continuously assess and track the location of the ball on the field to determine the best actions to take.
🚶♂️ Walk
Move to the ball: Navigate across the field efficiently, positioning the robot correctly in relation to the ball to prepare for the next move.
🥅 Shoot
Target and score: Apply precision when kicking the ball, aiming towards the goal to increase the chances of scoring.
🛡️ Defense
Block and intercept: Detect when the ball is heading toward the team’s goal and proactively prevent the opposing robot from scoring by blocking or intercepting.
Achievements
RoboCup 2023
In 2023, the team won 3rd place in the Humanoid Soccer League category during the Latin American stage of the RoboCup, held in Salvador, Bahia. This competition challenges participants to develop autonomous robots capable of playing soccer, integrating knowledge of mechanics, electronics and artificial intelligence.
RoboCup 2024
In 2024, the team won 3rd place in the Humanoid Soccer League category during the Latin American stage of the RoboCup, held in Goiânia, Goiás.
